Today's Message

St. Theresa of Avila School is rooted in the Catholic tradition and serves students of diverse population. In a Christ-Centered and nurturing environment, we strive to instill in our students the confidence that will empower them, as informed and compassionate individuals, to effect change in our world.

We must remember this: Getting to Sunday Mass may be a burden- - - but the Mass itself is not a burden. It is, rather, His Real Presence among us, His gift of Himself to us!

Welcome to a new school year!

Dear Parents/Guardians of St. Theresa Students,
Welcome to a new school year! These first few days of school have been a whirlwind of new faces and happy children. I look forward to a great year working with each of you.  I have met many of you and your children in my first few days and thank you for the support and welcome you all extended to me.

As the new principal, I will continue to promote St. Theresa’s mission while ensuring a strong partnership between home and school.  One of my most important roles is to support children, families, and teachers, in fostering a school community that is safe, nurturing and faith filled. The goal of staff is to provide students with an environment that fosters a love of learning, sets high expectations for success, and

promotes positive social and emotional development. I look forward to your support and involvement to make this a purposeful, fun, and productive year for our students!

Throughout the year, I would love to hear your ideas, thoughts, concerns, and suggestions. Your input is valuable to me.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Please remember that Monday is a full day beginning with Mass at 8:45 a.m. Children should wear their school uniforms on Monday except for those students who have gym on Monday. They are allowed to wear their gym uniform.

Important upcoming events are:

  • Back to School Night on Monday, September 14th from 7-8 for K0, K1 and K2 parents.
  • Back to School Night on Thursday, September 17th from 7-8 for Grades 1-6 parents.
  • Ice Cream Social on Friday, September 19th from 6-7.

Enjoy the weekend!
Warm regards,

Jean Leahy
