A Letter from the Principal
Welcome to St Theresa of Avila School! We are humbly proud of our students, and the life-long love of learning that starts here- in a school committed to academics excellence, community spirit, and spiritual strength.
Led by a team of professional and dedicated teachers. Our academic program is challenging and engaging. Our core curriculum includes Religion, Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science, augmented by specialty classes in Spanish, Music, Art and Physical Education.
St Theresa of Avila School is known as a place where students learn essential values; where high academic standards meet high moral standards; where excellent teachers are also excellent role models; where values like respect and compassion are not just encouraged, they are expected.
The excellence of our academic program is enhanced by the active participation of our families- our partners in education. This is an active and supportive community. Parent volunteers; promote a trust and camaraderie within our community that allows us to educate students at the highest level.
As a Catholic school, we believe that the religious and spiritual development of the child is indispensable in attaining a genuine whole child education. By teaching about the Catholic Faith, both Catholics and non-Catholics learn a common set of values, beliefs and expectations. It allows us to offer more than just intellectual engagement.
While teaching students to understand our faith, we also teach them to live our faith. Students learn in environments where the teachings of Jesus flourish. Subjects like love, compassion, generosity, tolerance and social justice are built into the curriculum and are demonstrated everyday by teachers, parents and students through example, attitude and interaction.
We never lose sight of each student’s potential- to learn, to grow, and to make a difference. We are not only committed to each student’s academic development, but to their emotional, spiritual, and physical development as well. It is a commitment that leads to success for our graduates- in the classroom and in their lives.
